In our most recent customer survey, we heard you loud and clear – many of you asked for more affordable night-time charging options. This trial is our direct response to your feedback and represents our commitment to finding ways to make EV charging work better for you.
At Believ, we’re dedicated to making electric vehicles accessible to all. We know that the upfront cost of an EV is just one part of the equation – ongoing running costs, including charging, play a crucial role in whether someone can make the switch from petrol or diesel.
Many of our customers rely entirely on public charging infrastructure, and we take seriously our responsibility to provide affordable, reliable options. This overnight rate trial is one step in our ongoing efforts to break down the barriers to EV adoption.
The benefits of day and night rates
We can see that lower overnight rates benefit everyone in the EV community. For drivers without home charging facilities, accessing affordable public charging during off-peak hours makes electric vehicle ownership more practical and economical. Night-time charging also helps balance demand on the electricity grid, making better use of renewable energy when it’s most available.
By offering reduced rates overnight, we’re helping to:
- Reduce charging costs for drivers who can charge during off-peak hours. And freeing up charge points for those who need them during the day
- Make EV ownership more viable for residents without driveways or dedicated parking
- Support the transition to electric mobility by reducing financial barriers
- Encourage efficient use of charging infrastructure and the electricity grid
How will the trial work
If you use one of our chargers in selected locations (Ealing, Hammersmith & Fulham, or Waltham Forest) from midnight to 6am you’ll automatically benefit from a reduced overnight rate. There’s nothing extra you need to do – simply plug in during the overnight period and enjoy the lower rates. Please note, if your charging session occurs across the ‘day’ and ‘night’, the respective tariff will apply for that period.

For now, this trial is on a temporary basis to help us gather data and understand how reduced overnight rates impact usage patterns and community needs. We want to make sure this is the best way to serve our customers.
By starting with these three boroughs, we can carefully evaluate:
- How drivers respond to the new pricing structure
- The impact on charging availability and infrastructure usage
- Whether this model is sustainable and beneficial for the wider community
- The best ways to support EV drivers across all the areas we operate in
